cantopop-ed
Hi guys, I’m back again! =X I guess I haven’t had a real post for a damn long time not because there’s nothing going on in my life, but rather, I’m just plain lazy to do anything about it…
Anyway, yesterday was 1 of the most fun times I had in a long time (like since I started working). Totally something different and new. I went out with 3 of my colleagues who are from hk and relocated to Singapore few months back (the earliest came like late last year). 2 guys 2 girls. I realised this is a very good combi for doing most things. We met for “Red Cliff” at bout 4pm, then had dinner at Coffee Club and KTV at KBOX. Actually the story about how I suddenly joined them that day was cos the day before, T suddenly added me into their ocs (something like msn) chat conference. So obviously I was like puzzled as to why I was added in cos I was like the odd one out there. But it seems he wanted to jio ppl for the eason concert. Anyway I wasn’t interested in it. But anyway gave them suggestions on the view from the respective seat pricings cos it was at indoor stadium. So I did mention that I went to maroon 5 concert before then T started typing out the lyrics of their songs so I was like “you wanna go ktv ah?” and he was like “YES SUPER!” So thats when he invited me to join them for “Red Cliff”, dinner and KTV the next day. So there I went.
I must say there were times when I could only understand half of what their cantonese conversation was talking about and gave up trying to concentrate. Maybe I saw it as a way to improve my cantonese. But I really felt great being out with them because I think thats what being in your 20s should be like? Hanging out with a bunch of ppl around your own age (Pong is my age, T is 2 years older and MISO is 3 years older), in a group of 4 max (anything more will be very difficult to organize and a big hassle in logistics) and just meeting for meals. Even though T was mean at times (he has a v acidic tongue), he’s quite the gentlemen with good table manners and will ask everyone what they are ordering so that he can do the ordering for everyone and ensure that the orders are correct with the waiter. Pong is great at KTV! Haha 1 thing good about the KTV was that I got to choose the cantonese songs that I wanted to hear and he’d be nice enough to sing them. And I got to hear them sing loads of weird cantonese songs! hahaha. Ah, finally I am cantopop-ed. And MISO is just nice being the other girl around otherwise I think the guys will bully me… -.-
*** Side track a little about “Red Cliff” ***
The show was better than predicted (I admit I have v low expectations in Chinese films =X ). Got me at the edge of my seats quite a few times, especially during the battle scenes. The CG stuff were a little too obvious at times. And the funny parts came in at the right times. Overall Tony Leung is totally enigmatic on the screen and totally the guy that you’d respect and like. But at times it did seem like the plot was dragging on forever. Oh well, can’t wait for part 2! ![]()
*** End of Side Track ***
I hope next week we’d be watching “Dark Knight” together and also maybe go to one of the great places that T recommended.
