2012 Resolutions
1) Eat better
I’ve always had the habit of eating things that I like and most of these stuff are not exactly the most healthy stuff. This led to constipation when I lost weight last year and I had a severe case of diarrhea a few weeks ago. Also not such a great start this year with CNY having a habit of making me overeat even though I don’t like CNY goodies but it causes overeating which is really such a horrible thing! The other day I actually ate so super fast when I brought my family to Sabio for dinner and as my sister and father were eating so very fast, everyone else started eating very fast also as the food was disappearing way too fast! After it was all over, I sat in the car, started burping and feeling very uncomfortable and it just dawn on me that I could not remember when was the last time I burped and overate! It’s so easy to just eat very fast and not let your stomach react and tell your brain whether it’s full. Such a bad habit which I stopped when I lost weight but need to be conscious about because it’s just too easy to fall back into that habit. So anyway, in conclusion, eat better: more vegetables, muesli bars, brown rice, beetroot, beans, celery, juices, less snacks and not overeat!
2) Run a marathon
Claris told me how my previous blog entry inspired her to start exercising again and asked me to join her in 1 of the 10km runs this year. I told Joce about it and she said she’s interested as well! So let’s do this! \o/
3) Write a food blog
I’ve already secured the URL I wanted. So I’ve really got to get this started!
4) Sign up for a JLPT N2 class and take JLPT N2
Let’s see how far I get for this, there’s a course in Feb that I’m highly interested in plus my ~new job will probably force me to be more proactive!
5) Get back to reading proper books!
I haven’t been reading much since I got my iphone 2+years ago, so it’s time to get back to the books as it’s been pretty obvious to me lately that my vocabulary has been deteriorating to a really horrible state!
6) Get a semi-pro camera
Try as I might to take proper photos with my Canon powershot during my NZ trip, which is already a great improvement from the normal ones I manage to take, it’s really really difficult when you compare the quality of photos with those DSLRs on the trip! Dawn recommended the Panasonic GF3 but thanks to her, I have like a million other things I want to get also! (>_<)
7) Get a boyfriend
This has been taking way too long. There is only so much friends can be there for me and it would be really nice to finally have someone to share my life with. But it’s so damn tough to find someone that’s suitable! I have to say that NZ has left me quite a changed person: the other day I actually bumped into 1 of my previous (let’s call him) “guilty pleasures” and I nearly wanted to call out to him but I stopped myself and decided to see whether he saw me first before saying hi but he did not see me and I saw him walk pass me talking on the phone happily and just thought to myself that never again was I going back to that lifestyle/bad habit. Even the so called dodgy guys in office, well I can’t seem to see them anymore and not to mention take anything they say to heart because I know that I am/can do so much better than that. It’s like I suddenly had so much more self respect. I told Aloysius this and he was like,’Finally, Nicol. I am so happy to hear that.’
But ok, I will put in more effort to meet new people in hopes of finding the one! Wish me luck!
